We are very pleased to introduce you to the Rainhill Sixth Form Centre website. We hope it gives you a good flavour of life within the centre and that you find it interesting and informative.
We have an excellent track record of success and pride ourselves on our personal approach. We value individuals and work with you to design a learning programme that suits your strengths and leads to progression. Thorough advice, guidance and support ensures students are challenged in a positive environment and our aim is that every student fulfils their potential and achieves success.
You will have opportunities to expand your social, recreational, sporting and cultural interests. Extensive enrichment opportunities allow students to develop new skills, meet new people and broaden their horizons. If you would like to find out more about what we have to offer please come to our Open Evening, where you can meet both staff and students. Alternatively, please arrange an appointment where you can speak to myself and look around the facilities.
We care passionately about each and every one of our student’s and aim to offer the best bespoke advice and guidance we have available. We ensure every student is following the best programme of individual study possible. These are closely matched to student interests and ambitions which are discussed at the enrolment interview. Further, this is then explored and reviewed through the weekly tutorials which we offer to all our students throughout the two years they are with us. By combining excellent academic success alongside personal care and support we strive to provide a happy, self-motivating, creative and challenging environment for students to be part of and to be successful in.
We will always adopt high standards and expectations for ourselves and for our student’s.
How can we become even more successful in the future? Well, the difference might just be you! Making contact Your passion, our passion.
As a Sixth Form Centre and Management Team we are committed to educating and developing students as a whole person. Universities and prospective employers are not just looking at a student’s impressive academic record but are increasingly and more importantly considering their character and personal experiences which make them unique as an applicant. We are therefore focused on ensuring that every student is provided with opportunities not only to develop academically but that they are able to develop the necessary skills and unique qualities to achieve success in the future.
To ensure students’ settle in quickly to the demands of Level 3 study, we interview every single applicant. During this progression interview we discuss with the student their future plans and the pathways possible to achieve them. We try our best to match student ambition with the appropriate advice and guidance so that a student’s programme of study with us will allow them to progress in the right direction to allow all our students to fulfil their potential. Early in September we host a Parent’s Welcome Evening and we explain the expectations and responsibilities necessary for our students to be successful and discuss the ways in which we all need to work together as a team to benefit all our students in their progression through Post-16 study.
