History is not all in the past! The themes in History are just as relevant today. They help us become informed citizens who understand how the events of the past have shaped the world within which we live today and contribute to decision making that affects us in the future.

Year 13

Written Exam 40% of A-Level.
Component 2
The Making of Modern Britain, 1951–2007.
Written Exam  40% of A-Level.
Component 3
Germany, 1878 – 1989.
20% of A-Level.
Historical Investigation (3500 words).


Vocational Progression


A university degree in a history or a related subject.
Many good jobs await including: Lawyer; Teacher;  Police Officer;  Journalist; Script Writer; Heritage – Museum Officer; Archivist; Civil Service Officer; Media; Economist and Armed Forces.
