Rainhill Sixth Form has an excellent track record of success in educating young people and we pride ourselves on our personal approach.  Our strengths lie in that we are able to offer: an extensive and flexible range of courses; yet retain small class sizes; and a friendly community atmosphere.  Significant changes have been implemented over the past two years under new leadership. Students are challenged in all aspects of developing as young adults so they can be successful in the future.

As a centre we are constantly striving to improve and believe we can offer students an excellent package that allows students the choice of a wide range of courses in a very personal and supportive environment. Our class sizes are kept small and this allows students the support that will allow them to develop the necessary skills in order to fulfil their potential. There is a friendly community atmosphere within the sixth form and relationships between staff and students are very positive and productive.

We very much see ourselves as an important stepping stone allowing young people to move on to great things in the future. Therefore, we work with students to ensure that you are placed on an appropriate programme of study that suits their strengths and allows students to fulfil their ambitions. We work hard to then ensure that you have the necessary care, guidance and support to give students the best possible start in whatever they decide to do in the future.

Opportunities are provided and students are encouraged to expand their social, recreational, sporting and cultural interests.  We offer extensive enrichment opportunities to help you develop new skills, meet new people and broaden your horizons. We also work closely with local agencies and organisations in trying to allow students to gain relevant work experience so that they have the edge when it comes to applications to either Higher Education or employment.

Over 90% of students each year gain entry on to University courses and students are guided and supported through this increasingly challenging and demanding process.
