Rainhill Sixth Form is ideally situated on Warrington Road. A main road which runs through Rainhill and Prescot, Warrington Road has a number of transport links.

Situated five minutes for Rainhill Stoops, motorways and major link roads are easily accessible. This makes Rainhill Sixth Form easily commutable from St Helens, Widnes, Warrington, Knowsley and Merseyside. To plan your journey by car using a sat-nav or google maps use the postcode L35 6NY.

A number of rail and bus services operate nearby too. Rainhill Sixth Form is less than 10 minutes walk from Rainhill station, which is on the Liverpool to Manchester line. There are regular services from Lea Green, St Helens, Whiston, Huyton, Earlestown, Roby, Broad Green and Warrington.  There is also a bus stop right outside Rainhill Sixth Form. Bus services travel directly from across the region including, St Helens, Widnes, Huyton , Wavertree and Billinge.

Plan my journey to Rainhill from Huyton

By Car – A 3.2 mile drive, taking 9 minutes. Follow Longview Drive onto Pottery Lane. Keep going through Whiston on Pottery lane, passing Tesco Express. Join Lickers Lane and at Fox Bank Cemetery, go straight ahead onto Blundell’s Lane. Pass the Golf Club on you right and head to where Blundell’s Lane crosses with Old lane and Mill Lane. Go straight ahead onto View Road. Follow this until you meet the A57 – Warrington Road. Turn right and follow Warrington Road until you see Rainhill Sixth Form on your right.

By Train – A direct Northern Rail train from Huyton Station to Rainhill takes 7 mins.  There are two stops, Warrington Bank Quay and Whiston. Rainhill Sixth Form is a 10 minute walk from here.

By Bus – The bus is operated by Arrive North West and takes around 35 minutes. Walk to Hurst Park and catch the 9 towards Liverpool. Alight at Wastle Bridge Road. Walk to Hillside Road and catch the number 10A towards St Helens. Alight at Rainhill Road/Brandreth Close and take a 5 minute walk to Rainhill Sixth Form.

Plan my journey to Rainhill from Newton-le-Willows

By Car – A 10 mile journey from Newton-le-Willows, taking around 20 minutes. Follow Wargrave Road, south towards Alder Root Lane. Passing Alder Root Golf club on your right, you will come to a roundabout. Turn right onto Alder lane, taking the second exit. Follow Alder Lane onto Fir Tree Lane. Turn left at the roundabout onto Farmers Lane and then right at the next roundabout onto Tan House Lane. At the roundabout, turn left onto Burtonwood Lane and follow the signs for the M62. Enter the M62 at Junction 8 and follow for one junction. Leave the M62 at Junction 7 and join the A57 – Warrington Road. Follow the A57 until you come to Rainhill Sixth Form. This will be on your right.

By Train – A direct Northern Rail train from Newton-Le-Willows Station to Rainhill takes 12 mins.  There are four stops. Rainhill Sixth Form is a 10 minute walk from here.

By Bus – The bus is operated by Arrive North West and takes around 62 minutes. Catch the 34A from Hope Street, heading towards St Helens. Alight at St Helens Bus Station (Stand 5) and walk to Stand 8. From Stand 8, catch the 10A towards Liverpool. This will drop you off on Warrington Road where you will find Rainhill Sixth Form.

Plan my journey to Rainhill from Prescot

By Car – A 2 mile journey, taking 9 minutes. From Kemble Street, travel to the roundabout near Cables Retail Park. At the roundabout go straight ahead and join Warrington Road. Follow Warrington Road, through Whiston, past Whiston Hospital and into Rainhill. You will find Rainhill Sixth Form on your right hand side.

By Train – A train would take 34 minutes. Take the train from Prescot to Huyton. Alight at Huyton and catch the Huyton train north towards Warrington Bank Quay. Alight at Rainhill station. Rainhill Sixth Form is a 10 minute walk from here.

By Bus – The bus is operated by Arrive North West and takes around 17 minutes. Walk to Atherton Street and catch the 10A towards St Helens. There are 10 stops. Alight at Rainhill/Brandreth Close and take a five minute walk to Rainhill Sixth Form.

By Car – A 3.9 mile journey from St Helens, taking around 12 minutes. Head west on College Street (A571). At the roundabout, take the second exit and keep travelling on the A571. At the next two roundabouts, keep straight ahead on the A571. You will come to another roundabout where you will take the A58 Westfield Street exit. Follow the A58, through West Park until you reach Thatto Heath. Where Lugmore Lane joins the A58, take a left onto Lugsmore Lane. Follow Lugsmore Lane onto Thatto Heath Road. Keep following the road onto Nutgrove Road and then onto Rainhill Road. Where Rainhill Road crosses with Warrington Road, take a left onto Warrington Road. Follow Warrington Road until you find Rainhill Sixth Form.

By Train – This is a Northern Rail service. From St Helen’s Central station, take the train north to Liverpool Lime Street to Huyton. Alight at Huyton, taking the train towards Crewe which will stop at Rainhill. Alight at Rainhill Station. Rainhill Sixth Form is a 10 minute walk from here.

By Bus – The bus is operated by Arriva North West and takes around 20 minutes. From Stand 8, catch the 10A towards Liverpool. This will drop you off on Warrington Road where you will find Rainhill Sixth Form.

By Car – A 5.6 mile journey from Widnes, taking around 12 minutes. Follow the A562 north towards Rainhill and the M62. At the Rainhill Stoops Interchange, take the second exit onto Warrington Road. Follow Warrington Road until you see Rainhill Sixth Form on your right.

By Train – This is a Northern Rail service. Take the train from Widnes Station north towards Liverpool Lime Street. Alight at Edgehill Station. Change to a train heading north towards Warrington Bank Quay. Alight at Rainhill Station. Rainhill Sixth Form is a 10 minute walk from here

By Bus – The bus is operated by Halton Transport and takes around 27 minutes. Catch the bus outside the Doctors Pub. Catch the 61 towards Liverpool. Stay on the bus for 22 stops. Alight at Rainhill Train Station. Rainhill Sixth Form is a 10 minute walk from here.

By Car – A 8.6 mile journey from Widnes, taking around 19 minutes. Join the A57 at Midland way. Follow the A57 towards Widnes. At the roundabout at Great Sankey Way, take the second turn off onto the A562 towards Widnes.  Follow the A562 until you get to a roundabout on the Widnes Road. Take the third exit off to A580. Follow the A580 and then join the A557. Follow north to Rainhill Interchange. Take the 3rd exit off to A57 Warrington Road. Follow the Warrington Road until you see Rainhill Sixth Form on the right

By Train – This is a Northern Rail service. It is a direct service taking 19 minutes from Warrington Bank Quay to Rainhill Station. Alight at Rainhill Station. Rainhill Sixth Form is a 10 minute walk from here.

By Bus – The buses are operated by Halton Transport and Arriva and takes around 52 minutes. From Warrington Bus Interchange, take the 110 towards Murdishaw. Alight at Peel house Lane. Then, catch the 61 from Peel House Lane towards Liverpool. Alight at Rainhill Train station. Rainhill Sixth Form is a 10 minute walk from here.
